Your recipes deserve playlists

Why we are building CookBook around playlists: the recipes you cook, grouped the way your week actually happens.

· 2 min read

Most of us cook the same twenty or thirty dishes over and over. They live in a notebook, in screenshots, in a family chat, in a site you can never find again. When it is time to plan the week, the recipes are there somewhere, but never together.

Music apps solved a similar problem a long time ago. Nobody thinks about "all the songs I know". We think in playlists: for the gym, for a Sunday afternoon, for a road trip. CookBook brings that idea to the kitchen.

Recipes grouped by moment, not by category

A traditional cookbook sorts recipes by starters, mains and desserts. Real life does not work like that. You need:

  • a weeknight playlist with dishes ready in thirty minutes;
  • a Sunday lunch playlist for when the family comes over;
  • a light week playlist when you want to eat better;
  • the kids' favorites, for when nobody wants to argue.

The same recipe can be in as many playlists as you like, just like a song.

Nutrition without the spreadsheet

Every recipe in CookBook calculates calories and macros per serving from its ingredients, using open nutrition tables. You don't need to look anything up: add the ingredients and the numbers come with them. You can always correct an ingredient if the match is not right.

Made to be shared

Recipes have always been shared: a grandmother's cake, a friend's curry. In CookBook each recipe and each playlist can be private, shared by link or public. Send a link on WhatsApp and it opens with a proper preview, even for people without an account. Invite someone to a playlist and plan meals together.

And if you are a nutritionist, you can recommend recipes and playlists to your clients, who see exactly who recommended each one.
