How to use

Add and edit recipes

Updated September 13, 2026

Add a recipe

  1. In CookBook, choose New recipe.
  2. Fill in the Title. It is the only required field.
  3. Add what you know: Description, Servings, Prep (minutes) and Cook (minutes).
  4. Fill in the ingredients and steps (see below).
  5. Choose Create recipe.

Ingredients

Each line has a quantity, a unit, the ingredient and an optional note, such as "chopped".

  • Quantity accepts whole numbers, decimals and fractions: 2, 1.5, 1/2 or 1 1/2.
  • Unit covers grams, kilograms, ounces, pounds, milliliters, liters, teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, cloves, slices, cans, packages, bunches, pinches and to taste, which has no quantity.
  • For things you count, like eggs, leave the unit empty or choose unit: the recipe shows "3 eggs".

Use the arrows to change the order and the trash can to remove a line. Empty lines are ignored when you save.

Steps

Write one step per box. Choose Add step for the next one and use the arrows to reorder.

Tags

Separate tags with commas, like dessert, quick, vegetarian. On the recipe page, choose a tag to see every recipe that has it.

Find a recipe

On Recipes, type part of the name in the search box. The newest recipes come first.

Edit or delete

Open the recipe and choose Edit. To delete, choose Delete and confirm. Deleting also removes the recipe's photos and can't be undone.

While cooking, tick the ingredients on the recipe page as you use them. The ticks aren't saved.
