How to use

Who can see your recipes

Updated September 14, 2026

Every recipe has a Who can see it option, in the recipe form and in Share:

| Option | Who sees it | |---|---| | Private | Only you. This is how every new recipe starts. | | Anyone with the link | The people you send the link to, even without a ShakeThere account. The page doesn't show up in search engines. | | Public | Anyone. The page can show up in search engines like Google. |

Change it

Open the recipe and choose Share, then pick an option. You can also change it in Edit, under Who can see it.

What people see

Whoever opens the link sees the photos, servings, times, ingredients and steps. They don't see your email or your other recipes. To like or save the recipe they need a ShakeThere account.

Making a recipe private again

The link stops working right away and the recipe disappears from other people's Saved list. If you share it again, people who had saved it see it again.
