How to use
Profile, following and feed
Updated September 14, 2026
Your profile is your page in CookBook. It is optional: without a profile your recipes work as before and nothing of yours shows up for people who didn't get a link.
Create your profile
- In CookBook, open Profile.
- Choose your profile handle: 3 to 30 lowercase letters, numbers, dot or underscore. It becomes the link to your page, like
app.shakethere.com/cookbook/u/ana.cooks. - Check your display name (it starts with your account name) and, if you like, write something in About you.
- Choose Create profile.
If someone else already uses the handle, CookBook tells you right in the field. Some handles, like shakethere and support, are reserved.
Changing your handle later makes old links to your profile stop working.
What your profile shows
| Shown | Not shown | |---|---| | Name, handle and About you | Your email | | Public recipes and playlists | Private or link-only recipes and playlists | | How many people follow you | Who those people are |
On the recipes and playlists you share, the page shows By with your name and a link to your profile.
Follow someone
Open the person's profile (from their name on a shared recipe or playlist, or from their profile link) and choose Follow. To unfollow, choose Following.
Following doesn't notify the person and nobody sees who you follow. Your list is in Profile › Following, where you can also unfollow.
Feed
Feed shows the public recipes and playlists of the people you follow, newest first. Each item keeps the date it was first published: making a recipe private and public again doesn't move it back to the top.
Delete your profile
In Profile, choose Delete profile and confirm. Your handle becomes available, your followers stop following you, nothing of yours shows up in feeds anymore and your comments are deleted. Your recipes and playlists stay as they are, including links you already shared.
