How to use
Recipe comments
Updated September 14, 2026
Recipes shared with a link or made public have a Comments area at the end of the page. Anyone with the link can read the comments, even without an account.
Comment
- Sign in to your ShakeThere account.
- Create your CookBook profile if you don't have one yet: your comment shows your name and profile handle.
- Write in Your comment (up to 1,000 characters) and choose Post comment.
To prevent spam, each profile can post up to 5 comments per minute.
Delete
Open the comment's ⋯ menu and choose Delete.
- You can delete your own comments on any recipe.
- On your own recipe, you can delete anyone's comment.
Deleting can't be undone. If you delete your profile, your comments are deleted too.
Report
Found spam or something offensive? Open the comment's ⋯ menu, choose Report, pick a reason and send it. Each person can report a comment once, and nobody finds out who reported it.
When three people report the same comment, it is hidden from everyone until the ShakeThere team reviews it. The author still sees the comment, with a note that it is hidden.
When a recipe stops being shared
If the recipe goes back to private, the comments area disappears along with the link. Comments show up again if you share the recipe again.
