How to use
Areas of life and origins
Updated September 13, 2026
In Organize you set up two of the four coordinates: areas of life and origins.
Areas of life
Areas never end: you take care of your health or your family all your life. LifeHub suggests Health, Family, Home, Finances and Career.
- Rename: choose Rename next to the area, type the new name and choose Save.
- Create: type the name in New area and choose Add area.
- Vision: choose Vision next to the area to write where you want to get. See vision and objectives.
Origins
Origins are what generates your tasks:
| Type | Example | What LifeHub does | |---|---|---| | Project | A move, a trip, a course. | Shows how many of the project's tasks are done. | | Process | Closing the month, packing for a trip. | Creates the tasks for its steps when you start it. | | Routine | Paying bills on the 10th, cleaning on Saturdays. | Creates the tasks for the next dates on its own. | | Habit | Reading three times a week. | Shows the habit in Today and counts your streak. |
To create one, choose New origin, then the Type, the Area of life and a Name. Routines, processes and habits ask for their own setup; see routines, processes and habits. If the origin moves an objective forward, choose the Key result too.
To change an origin, choose Edit. You can change its key result right in the list.
Each origin has a status: Active, Paused, Done or Archived. Paused routines stop creating tasks. Archived origins leave the list and can't receive new tasks, but tasks that already use them keep showing where they came from.
