Search recipes and playlists

CookBook Search looks through all public recipes and playlists, from anyone. Private recipes and recipes shared only by link never show up in search.

Search

1. In CookBook, open Search.
2. Type at least 2 letters: the name of a dish, an ingredient, a tag or a word from the description.
3. Choose Recipes or Playlists to see each kind of result.

Results appear as you type, most relevant first: a recipe with the word in its title comes before recipes that only have it in their tags, ingredients or description. Choose Load more to see the next page.

How search reads what you type

• Accents don't matter: "creme brulee" finds "crème brûlée".
• Parts of words work: "carr" already finds "carrot".
• Simple plurals too: "carrots" finds "carrot".
• Small typos in the name: "carot cake" finds "Carrot cake".
• Very short words like "of" and "a" are ignored when there are others.

When you type several words, search shows what has all of them.

Open a result

Choose the name to open the recipe or playlist. When the person who published it has a profile, their name appears below it, linking to the profile. From there you can like and save the recipe or follow the person.

Your own recipes

To search only your own recipes, including private ones, use the search box on the Recipes screen. It reads your text the same way.
